In the meantime, here are some frequently asked questions that just might have the answers that you are looking for:
Who can participate? Any students and sport teams from any High School that has registered on HSTeenTeams.com can participate in the Tournament and can apply for a Press Pass.
How does the Tournament work? Each team web page has an area to input certain requested statistics from its regular Interscholastic season games. These figures are manipulated in real-time, resulting in your team’s National Ranking posted on the SCORE BOARD. The leading Teams, at the end of the season (actually the 2000/2001 school year to allow all schools with different seasonal divisions to participate) WIN!
What is the Press Pass for? HSTeenTeams also offers prizes and recognition to students in the fields of JOURNALISM, PHOTOGRAPHY, GRAPHICS, ILLUSTRATION and WEB DESIGN. The Press Pass application will send you the details and instructions on how and where to submit your work. If you are attempting to get “published in real print” .. (as in paper) .. your school needs to sign up for the tZINE program, a fund-raiser specifically designed for programs in Journalism.
When will the SCORE BOARD open? The SCORE BOARD will open as soon as we get enough schools on board. Help us out and call your friends and relatives who live someplace else and have them printout this form and take it to their local high school!! The more schools on board – the bigger the Tournament!
How do we know that the results are real? Before any prizes will be awarded, a signed copy of the interscholastic games scores must be submitted to HSTeenteams for confirmation.
The Tournament has started. Is it too late to sign up? It’s never too late to join in! Just create your team pages and enter all of the request data. Your scores and stats will be added to our records and your school teams will then take their place in the National Ranking System.
Where do the games take place? The games as played where ever they are supposed to take place in the real world. HSTeenTeams only uses the scores and stats of your normal season games.
What if we made a mistake in our entries? No problem .. just go back in and correct it. Our records are constantly updated in real time.
Our school colors are missing. No problem – just e-mail us and we will add them to the choices.
Will the finals be on TV? Not this year because the whole Tournament only exists in cyberspace. But who knows – maybe HSTeenTeams will get so big... a real-time, real-life play-off might not be far away!
